Remember, when you were young, and it was raining, but your parents wouldn't let you go outside intil it stopped raining. So, you waited and looked out the window, then suddenly it stopped taining, and you finally went outside. you smiled, laughed and played until it was time to fo back in the house. Those were the days of joy and delight/ well, for some people , a smile, a laugh does not come often enourgh. We delight in seeing people smile, laugh and enjoy life to the best of their ability. We offer participants a chance to enjoy life, if only for a moment.

Family & Friends of NWI is a organiazation that serves develomentally challenged indiduals in Northwest Indiana. We host monthly Themed Dances at The Jean Shepahard Community Center, Hammond, In (May-Nov). We were fromely known as Social Circle of Northwest Indiana, Our Founder Claudia Blake recently died in January 2010 and the name was changed to Family & Friends of NWI , to cntinue with what she started, Advocating for people with a disability and hosting Themed Dances and other programs.

Our dances are geared for develomental challenged individuals a& Senior Citizens. They have the opportuiity to dance, eat particpate in talent contest, enjoy performaces of live entertiners, win prizes and socialize with their peers. The particpates really look forward to attenting these events. Their laughter is heartfelt.

We would like to continue to provide services to these needy individuals and would appreciate any type of assistance. We are in dyer need of sponsors who are willing to donate: gift card, games, lunch bags, pop, water, cups, plates, sppons, forks, or any prizes from your organization or from your heart. won't you please take the time to doante and help give another person an opportunity to smile, laugh and encjoy life, if not for a moment.
